This year’s trip abroad was to the Zillertal Alps in Austria. Based in Mayrhofen, the group managed quite a few local peaks including the Ahornspitze at 2973m. Next year it’s the French Pyrenees with plenty of trips to Snowdonia, the Lakes, Peak District, Brecon Beacons etc in between. For gallery of pics click the header

Better than expected weather on Saturday with a trip up the Carneddau and another around the lakes from Capel Curig. A day out in the South Rhinogs taking in Diffwys (750m) and Y Llethr (756m). Often overlooked in favour of Rhinog Fach and Rhinog Fawr, the round of Diffwys and Y Llethr is an excellent horseshoe walk with superb views over Cardigan Bay.
