Location, location, location! The Carlisle Mountaineering Club Hut is best described as ‘basic’ but is set in a wonderfully remote area with great views and walking from the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday two groups set out on circular routes encountering surprisingly strong winds on the ridges. On return there was fizz for a birthday celebration before an excellent evening meal which was followed by port, cheese and chocolate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday dawned damp and overcast. Those with long journeys left by car to make a short walk over and around Cat Bells while others crossed Dale Head Tarn to the Honister Pass and returned to the hut via Borrowdale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
