We have exclusive use of Mar Lodge Base Camp situated 4 miles west of Braemar, offering easy access to the Cairngorms. There are four bedrooms – two four-bedded, one two-bedded (all bunk beds) and one room with two single beds and an en-suite with toilet and shower. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, sitting room, dining room, drying room, showers, toilets and oil-fired central heating.
Mar Lodge Estate is made up of more than 29,000 hectares of astonishing Scottish landscape: heather-covered moorland, Caledonian pine forest, towering mountains and the Quoich wetlands, home to wading birds and otters.
There are 15 Munros here (mountains over 914m/3,000ft high), including 4 of the 5 highest mountains in the UK. Plenty of low level walking options as well and the beautiful ancient pinewoods are home to red squirrels and pine martens as well as birds such as the crossbill and black grouse.
