Winter Meet, Feb, 2015

For the February 2015 Winter Meet we stayed at the Inverardran Cottage Bunkhouse in Crianlarich, Scotland.

On the first day we attempted to climb Ben More but did not reach the summit due to excessively high winds.

On the second day three of us attempted to climb Ben More via the north east ridge – but again did not reach the summit due to soft lying snow which looked like it might avalanche.

On the third day five of us decided to give Ben More a rest and headed up Beinn Mhic-Mhonaidh – a Corbett. It was blowing a hoolie on the summit (see the last photo) but at least we made it.

On the fourth day it was raining hard all day so a few us took the train to Fort William. From there we took a bus to Oban and then another train back to Crianlarich. It was a lovely way to spend the day.

On the fifth day the weather wasn’t much better – but undeterred some of headed down Glen Fallon on the bus to Inverarnan to walk up the waterfall & then head north to pick up The West Highland Way & head back to Crianlarich

On the sixth and final day me and Simon decided to give Ben More another crack – and made it to the summit. But by golly, the wind was blowing hard and it was very, very cold on the summit – too cold for many photos.
