Nine Gentians met at Ynysmarchog Bunkhouse near Trecastle on Friday 15th July.
Saturday dawned with good promise so we set off south towards Glyntawe by car then headed out to climb Carmarthen Fan to include Fan Hir, Fan Brycheiniog and Picws Du.
The weather was appalling! Heavy rain, 20 metre visibility and strong winds were the order of the day making navigation very difficult. We completed the twelve mile route, led by Phil (many thanks), by 4:30 PM with a welcome pint at Tafarn-y-Garreg.
Thanks to all for an excellent if soggy time.

Unfortunately, this is one of the best and spectacular walks in South Wales so I hope people used their imagination.
Sunday wasn`t much better and it was sickening to see people out having picnics and swimming in the Wye just a few miles from Brecon.
See you in Deiniolen for better weather, I hope.
Phil – en route to Zillertal via Munich with poor weather forecast again – I knew we should have booked that Caribbean cruise!!
